Hip new hotel and clean, savoury breakfasts, ideal location next to a golf course.

The hotel was beautifully designed and located in a super nice area. Food in the coffee bar was great. The service was great and the staff was best. All the facilities were clean.

The hotel was pleasant and fairly clean, its location was fab near ocean, top-notch service. The breakfast was lovely, such variety, with baked breads and yogurt, for instance.

Located in a large property with golf course, lots of green. The room is very comfortable and clean, modern. Easy access with car to all sides, 5 minutes from downtown Monterey and 15 minutes from Carmel. For breakfast we went to a very new and modern cafe in the center of monterey called Captain + Stoker, very rich coffee. In price quality was the best thing we found to stay near carmel. You can't miss the 17 mile drive, you have to pay 10 dollars to enter with the car because it is a private neighborhood.
The air conditioner was a machine that did not match the room, instead of cooling, the machine itself got hot. The same applies if you open the window to the balcony and air comes in and you don't need air, but you should improve it. The bathroom door is sliding and does not close tightly, so it does not give you the privacy you need, you feel that everything is still open.

Sits on a beautiful Monterey golf course. Grounds are well maintained. Near the freeway so some noise, but very convenient. Can be in Carmel in minutes. The service staff was very friendly.
Decor in the room was more contemporary. Just not my style.

Beds were uncomfortable no movie stations not worth the money.

The rooms have been recently remodeled. Pending on the location of your room, freeway noise may be a factor if your planning on getting a good nights sleep
Older hotel that is over priced

Location was great. The hotel is badly in need of an updating. Carpets in hallways are filthy. Faucet over sink in bathroom had to be turned off and returned on to get cold water to come on. Hotel could use some air conditioning, I know weather is great in Monterey, but it could still benefit from having air conditioning.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Monterey mainly because it was relatively cheap. I liked the price and I liked the fact it was child friendly (our kids could use the gym, the pool, the hot tub,..) which is not always the case. The restaurant and children menu, too. The location could sometimes be an advantage because its just outside the fog line. But its no walking distance to the seaside, and you can hear the freeway noise.
The hotel is old and tired. Old infrastructure. The restaurant was cheap but food was no good, and the sports bar Knuckles looks looks like a dive. If it wouldn't be for the price, I would not give any good ratings for it. Certainly not up anymore to Hyatt standards.

Loved the atmosphere and the greeting of all guest as soon as you arrive. The convenience of self check in and out system was great. The rooms were very neat, clean and comfortable beds. The location of the hotel was a short drive to the Monterey Beach was very nice. The staff was very helpfull and friendly. All around an excellent place to stay. Will return one day soon.
No shuttle from further away hotel rooms. That would have been an added neat touch to this hotel. Other then that, all good.
